Premise

Cookies are text strings sent by a web server (e.g. the site) to the user’s Internet browser, which are automatically stored on the user’s computer and automatically sent back to the server each time the site is accessed or subsequently accessed. Each cookie contains various data such as the name of the server it comes from, a numeric identifier, etc. Cookies can remain in the system for the duration of a session (i.e. until you close the browser used to surf the web) or for long periods and can contain a unique identification code.

By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies, but each web browser allows you to restrict and delete cookies (for more information see the section of this policy on “How to disable, enable or delete cookies”). Please note, however, that disabling or deleting cookies may prevent the optimal use of certain areas of the site or affect the use of services under authentication.

Type of Cookies used by Mangrovia

Mangrovia uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Technical cookies: technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service. These can be divided into: navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website, analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the operator of the site to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, as well as functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of criteria selected to improve the service provided to the same.
  • Profiling cookies: these are the cookies used to track the user’s navigation on the web and create profiles on their tastes, habits, and choices. These cookies can be used to transmit to the user’s terminal advertising messages in line with the preferences already expressed by the same user.
  • Third-Party Cookies: Third-Party Cookies are cookies set by a website other than the one you are currently visiting. In the course of browsing the site, the user may also receive on his/her terminal equipment cookies that are sent by different sites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which some elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site he/she is visiting may reside.

How to deactivate, activate or delete cookies

By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies, which can be restricted or blocked via the browser settings. If you prefer that websites do not store any cookies on your computer, set your browser to notify you before each cookie is stored. Alternatively, you can set your browser to reject all cookies or only third-party cookies. You can also delete all cookies already on your system. It is important to note that the settings must be changed separately in each browser and computer used.

Blocking cookies does not eliminate the display of advertisements. They will simply no longer be personalised according to your interests and will be displayed more frequently. In each browser, the settings are changed by following a different procedure. If necessary, please use the help function of your browser to define the correct settings.
